Reporter App App Reviews

The app I would have written myself

Collecting data to problem solve and make better decisions is difficult. Reporter manages to integrate it all into a convenient and unobtrusive app, and most importantly, my data remains mine and mine alone. If I had been able to, and if I had been clever enough, this is the app I would have written for myself. Extremely well-executed. Inexpensive. Useful. Convenient. Doesnt get much better than this!

Needs Improvement

The concept of the app is brilliant and is what drew me to it in the first place. The actual app itself though needs much improvement. The UI is very flashy, however that makes up most of its substance. It should be easier to do reporting in this. When you are prompted it should actually take you to the reporting section with your questions. The Sleep/Awake function isnt designed very well. There should be something that shows you what mode it is in other than the text in the bottom right corner. Overall great idea but poorly executed in terms of design.

Great idea with lots of room to grow

I love the idea of collecting personal data through a few timed surveys. Easy to use. But right now its just a shade of what the app could be. You should be able to generate reports cross-referencing the data with if-than radio buttons. What if I want to know if I drink coffee at different times at work when I skip lunch? Or if playing video games too late in the day affects my sleep? Or if I work more efficiently when I am exercising regularly? You could get all these results with a more dynamic report generator. Right now it just gives you information without it being very useful. Also please include a "time" option in the survey editing menu that the app recognizes, so we can have questions like "when did you last drink coffee" or whatever.

Highly recommend

What friends do you hang out with the most, just how great is your sex life? How often are you exercising? how much time do you spend watching TV, playing video games and surfing the Internet? Are you taking your supplements? All your answers can be found by using this app.

Good app

I always forget to put it in sleep mode I think an alert to do that would be good.

Nifty app!

Had to delete and reinstall however because tapping on the report button caused the app to crash. No issues now, but I wish there was a way to import from Dropbox instead of starting from scratch.

Just ok for now.

Love Feltron but this app feels antiquated. Plugging in your information manually feels like were back in Daytum times, but Reporter seems to lack the instant gratification that its predecessor seemed to provide. I was expecting a very premium, very automated life tracker. Getting a generic reminder, launching the app and filling out a very un-fun form while youre on the go isnt what Id consider the best experience. And $3.99 is pretty much robbery with such a limited set of features this early on.

Very good, lots of potential

This app is nice and fast and responsive, which I think is a must for any kind of app you want to quickly enter data in. Nice lightweight interface too. Very interested to see where this goes in the future. Get a better icon though!

Needs more complexity

Ive been using this for just over a week now. Its interesting but right now the data is offered up in too simple a manner. It would be great to link different data together to form a more complex picture. For example am I feeling happy when Im working? What about when Im with a certain person? Those kinds of linkages would make for a more illuminating experience.

No More Manual Data Entry

We are already consumed by hours and hours of data entry through social networking and work. Rather than add another layer, explore leveraging at least the social networking aspect to build and/or enhance personalized surveys.

Great App

Opens your eyes to aspects of life you might not think about often. Simple easy interface. Interested to see where the app will go over different iterations.

Great execution

This is the quantified self app Ive been waiting for. Equally good for: setting goals in the morning, quick data logging throughout the day, and targeted journaling at night.

Like many others, i like the idea but

This app is not consumer ready. It just offers you the data you fed it in several formats. It doesnt really do anything with that data. If youre motivated to fill out the surveys several times everyday , could be interesting in the long term if youre also motivated to take that data and treat it yourself.(basically, you have a lot of work to do). Not worth 3.99$ in its current state.

Good, with the potential to be great

So far, I love what this app could be more than I love the app—I want more. More ways to visualize and compare data within the app, especially. But I have a feeling I might use this for the rest of my life?!

Pretty cool, needs touch up....

I like this app its pretty neat. Its a tad repetitive with the questions. I think there should be more complexity with the questions. For example: I added a question, Are you learning? If I say Yes, Id like it to ask me a secondary question What are you learning? Thank you :)

Fantastic tool, but the .1 update is a little buggy

Loving all the additions to Reporter with this new update, but Im finding its buggier than it used to be. I might have to set the app to Asleep twice to get it to properly register, for example. As well, when I wake up, sliding the notification to unlock my phone doesnt properly register the report. I have to punch it in twice. The minor inconveniences have a negative impact on the experience, and if I didnt trust the developer and wasnt aware of his portfolio, my faith in the app would be damaged. Id recommend the app with these caveats, and am really looking forward to the updates. Version .1 is a much-needed feature release that otherwise makes the app much better.

great app but...

the app is amazing. i use it everyday. only problem is all the bugs in the new version. very laggy. please fix! i love this app

Reporter

Beautifully designed app! Awesome concept, cant find any other apps that address the need for personal mobile data collection. Functionality is not very intuitive/ easy to use/understand. I think increased tutorial/ how to material could definitely improve usability and user experience. I know so many people that could make great use of this app but would be deterred by not understanding how to use it.

Comparisons?

It would be great if you could compare two different charts visually of the same type to each other. For instance, how much coffee I drank over the week vs. how many hours I slept. Or how many hours I worked vs how many hours I surfed the Internet. These kind of comparisons would be invaluable too see in one chart.

Cool app, crashes a lot

Very nice design, very flexible, but crashes while Im reporting which is insanely annoying.
